ABOUT US

The primary focus of Yes Girls Lift Fitness Project is to use exercise as a vehicle to build physically fit, emotionally strong and confident girls.

How Does Program Work?

Yes Girls Lift Fitness Project is a four-week fitness leadership program designed to be taught at schools, recreation centers, church youth groups or at home with parents.

Yes Girls Lift Ambassador book provides step-by-step guidance and instructions on how to execute program. Each week for 4-weeks, attendees will read designated chapter readings and focus on one key pillar of program for the first 30-minutes of their 1-hour session. The last 30-minutes  of time is allotted for exercising. To get the most out of this program, determine if you will take the group or parent approach..

Due to Covid-19 we’ve modified our program to be taught online with video to accompany curriculum.

Group Approach

Steps for Running Program

Step# 1.Recruit Program Ambassadors or Coaches

-The ambassador or coach role will require 1-hour per week for 4-weeks. Ambassadors will lead the program at their sites.

Step #2. Choose a 4-Week Start and End Date

Ensure your start and end date doesn't conflict with other activities. This will ensure program attendees can maximize this program.

Step# 3. Create a Recruitment and Sign-Up Period

Allot at least 2-3 weeks of time before start date to recruit attendees. This will give you a better chance of reaching more girls. We recommend a 1:20 ratio. 1 coach to 20 girls. For increased engagement, split girls into 5 groups of 4.

Step # 5 Have a Program Launch Party

Set a small budget for healthy drinks and healthy snacks for your launch party. The program launch party is a designated time to provide each participant with program items and cover program expectations. Encourage parental involvement at this event. During the launch you will have each participant complete Yes Girls Lift Fitness Project questionnaire. The questions provided on the pre and post program questionnaire will be used to gauge each girls knowledge on healthy exercise and nutrition , healthy communication with peers and parents, how to identify stress, the importance of being a positive leader and the importance of healthy body image.

Step # 6 Evaluate and Report Results

During the last week of program, have each girl fill out the exact form that was used at the start of program. The pre-and post program questionnaire will be reviewed to determine if positive changes were made. For example, did attendees increase their knowledge on healthy eating and exercise terms etc. Program evaluation is completed by each ambassador or coach and reported to designated lead program coordinator if program is implemented within a school district.

Steps for Running Parent Approach

Step #1 Choose a Start and End Date

Ensure your start and end date doesn't conflict with other activities. This will ensure you and your daughter can maximize this program. It is advised that you purchase a copy of program fitness training book to have of your own.
